About WriteSource Medical
WriteSource Medical Pty Ltd is a biostatistics and medical writing
consultancy. We provide specialist consulting services to the pharmaceutical
companies and contract research organisations. We also offer training
in biostatistics, medical writing, immunology and pharmacology. We
comply with relevant industry guidelines, such as the Medicine’s Australia
Code of Conduct, ICMJE guidelines for the preparation of manuscripts,
Good Publication Practice and the Statistical Society of Australia
Inc’s Code of Conduct.
We also care for the environment.
Our office is run using 100% accredited GreenPower and we use recycled
products where possible. Even this website is hosted by energy efficient
servers that are powered by 100% certified green renewable energy.

About the Director
Belinda Butcher is the director of WriteSource Medical Pty Ltd, a
specialist consulting business providing medical writing and biostatistics
expertise to the Pharmaceutical and Medical professions.
Belinda commenced her career as an Associate Lecturer in Physiology
and Pharmacology at the University of New South Wales. Here she contributed
to the teaching efforts providing tutoring and problem based learning
to undergraduate Science and Medical students in Pharmacology and
Physiology. In order to develop her clinical research skills she successfully
secured a position as a Site Manager in the early phase (Global Clinical
Trials) team at Janssen-Cilag Pty Ltd. After a number of positions
within this company, including Site Manager and Project Manager in
the late phase research team, Belinda was promoted to the position
of Medical Communications Manager. In this role, Belinda worked cross
functionally with the clinical, health economics, regulatory and marketing
departments to successfully deliver both technical and marketing medical
writing projects. She also delivered strategic project input acting
as an advisory on project statistical issues, and provided line management
to a small team of medical writers.
Belinda holds an Honours degree in Science majoring in Pharmacology
(UNSW 1998), along with a Masters degree in Biostatistics (USyd 2009)
and a doctorate of Philosophy in Pharmacology (UNSW 2002). At the
conclusion of her Masters studies, Belinda was offered a position
as a casual research fellow at the George Institute for International
Health, which she currently holds.
Belinda concurrently teaches on the Masters of Public Health course
at the University of New South Wales in Epidemiology and Statistics.
Belinda is the author of several scientific papers, and many abstracts.
Belinda is a member of the American
Medical Writers Association, the
Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA),the
European Medical Writers Association (EMWA), , and the Statistical
Society of Australia Inc (SSAI). Belinda is the co-convenor of
the Medical Writing ESC of the Association of Regulatory and Clinical
Scientists (ARCS).
